5 Ways to Become a Rebel

5 Ways to Become a Rebel

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

In a world full of copy cats, be an original.  Here are 5 ways you can become a rebel.

R: Relationship

The #1 Relationship you could have in life is a relationship with God, it is impossible to be a rebel without it. Trying to be a rebel without God is like having a  cell phone and charger with no power source. Ever been somewhere where you need to charge your phone but you don’t have a place to plug it in? That’s how life is if you are trying to be a rebel without being in relationship with God. There is only so far we can go with will power, but we are limitless with God’s power. Be sure you are connected to him.

E: Example

To be a REBEL, you must be an example of Christ by doing what he did. Love others, care for the needy, serve others, and more! Christian rapper, Lecrae, has lyrics that say, “What if you were dead in sin and Christians overlooked you?” Knowing God, and how great he is. How he helps you and your family, the salvation he gives. Could you imagine going your whole life without having him to turn to in time of trouble? Or when you are lonely? Or when you need peace? Can you even imagine what it would be like for you if God was not there? Think about it for a second. This is probably how the girl in your gym class feels or the guy in algebra. But why? Because people like you and me…CHRISTIANS have been busy “going with the flow” instead of being the hands and feet of Jesus. Instead of being an example.

B: Boldness

“We can never change the world trying to be like it.” We have to be bold enough to step out of the flow and make a difference. Be bold about who you are in Christ and what he has instructed you to do.

E: Eliminate Excuses

If you know there is something God is leading you to do, DO IT. There are many times where we could feel too busy, or too inadequate or like someone else is already doing it better. #EXCUSES What God has created you to do, NO ONE ELSE on earth can do it. Eph. 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” God, created you for a reason!! Don’t allow insecurities and excuses keep you from being who you were created to be!

L: Love

If you want to be a rebel you have to love others. The definition of a REBEL is a person who rises in opposition. Not just for the sake of opposition, but to make a difference. This means your life can’t be about you and yours…you have to live to love others. Mark 12:31 says “ … ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” The world is dying and they are in need of us to love. Love the way Jesus loved. Our focus needs to shift from what we can accomplish for ourselves and focus on what we can accomplish for the kingdom.
